AUTHORS OF THE PROJECT
Thomas Callahan is the owner of Horse Cycles, a custom bicycle shop established in 2006. Based out of Brooklyn, NY, Horse Cycles produces approximately 40 custom bicycles each year. The company’s goal is to offer a high quality locally crafted alternative to foreign imports.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Urban Tour is a new bike designed as a versatile all-rounder, perfect for light touring, city riding and commuting. The frame will be made from all U.S. sourced materials including high quality True Temper double-butted 4130 steel alloy. This paired with our TIG welded construction and lugged fork produces a responsive, lightweight and durable bicycle that will last a lifetime.
Each bike comes equipped with cantilever brake mounts, water bottle bosses, and rack or fender mounts, making it a versatile and rugged do anything bicycle.
RISKS AND CHALLENGES
Having manufactured custom bicycles for the past 7 years, the authors are confident in creating an extremely high quality product. As craftsmen, they are excited to start using the new machinery and equipment in producing this new line of production bicycles.
Delivery date will depend on how many bicycles are ordered, but the authors are planning to work fast. In addition, the authors are open to users’ feedback and will probably apply some reasonable suggestions.
